Happy Diwali
Happy Diwali to all you lovely people out there.

Now, i'm a little unusually chirpy as i write this post, cuz i finally finished the Omkara Webpage!
I've been working every weekend for the past two months now, to get this page up and running and i am almost done. Atleast done enough to announce it out loud. I still have to put up scanned copies of the interviews and magazine articles of my exhibitions - but i just cant wait any longer.

Omkara - A journey of a kind
A little about the Omkara project before you surf away from here;
The Omkara was my final portfolio illustration project in my undergrads at the American University of Sharjah. At the time, I had become increasingly consumed by my quest of rediscovering my identity as a hindu and an indian living in the United Arab Emirates. I guess what i really wanted to achieve through this project was an understanding of an aspect of my religion and school of belief in my own individualistic way rather than having someone tell me what i should and should not believe in.
I dont think that i have reached the end of the journey that i set out on -- but i have definitely found inspiration in many other aspects of Hinduism that await visual exploration through design and new media. Lets see where this journey takes me .... For now, the omkara website will probably be a sufficient source to answer the question as to why i would do such a crazy thing as paint a Premier Padmini and adorn it with imagery of Hindu Gods and Godesses.
