Hmm… ok so it was official till now that i cant stand the ‘ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS’. (… their track ‘dirty little secret’ has begun to grow on me a little though – scary! )

Why am i writing this post again? To confess that i secretly admire the AAR and their taste in music ? F*** that!!

Its because the ‘Rejects’ have actually come up with a not-so-bad marketing strategy for themeselves this christmas. So get this.. they are holding a contest called the ‘Holiday Photo Contest’. Their contest info reads –

Want to get a call from the Rejects for Christmas? Here’s your chance. Make the most elaborate holiday decoration on your house, car, wall, whatever featuring anything AAR: logos, pictures, lyrics, anything! Take a pic of you with your decor and submit it, and the guys will pick their 5 favorite decorations. Those 5 people will get a call from the Reject of their choice, just for being such bad-ass fans. Not only that, their photos will be featured on the AAR website, and they will be made a part of the Top 8 friends on AAR’s MySpace!!

So basically, if the Rejects were driving by on a sleigh, your house should be the one that would flag them down. Make it look as if on the 25th you’re celebrating the birth of the All-American Rejects! Amen.

When i heard about the contest, it made me wonder if the Shks of Dxb would ever consider having a contest of similar sorts. I mean..

HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THOSE LANDCRUISERS ON SHK ZD ROAD WITH THE OVERDONE COLLAGEY IMAGES OF THE SHKS????

(ofcourse ‘overdone’ refers to the use of every possible photoshop filter available in the package: lens flares + rainbow gradients + embossings + glows + blurs + dropshadows + bla bla bla, should really post an image of this sometime) — ghastly!

The landcrusier with the most ‘overdone’ image wins free one years subscription to a ‘wasta’ privillege card … perhaps ?

The thing about ’surprises’ is that we never expect them to turn out the way they do.

Captains b)log…

It is now fiftyfour minutes past five post meiridem. My brain seems to have spaced out.

All engines went down at seven minutes to eleven ante meridiem a few days ago .. its hard to tell whether anyone else on board is in a concious state of mind. Fits of paranoia and stench of boredom fill the cabin periodically forcing us to depressurize out corporate spacecraft every twenty minutes.

All crew members continue to suffer from extreme exhaustion. Both intergallactic destinations – ‘Home’ and ‘Weekend’ seem lightyears away.

Hope we are all able to make it there alive!

Recruitment Ad reads:

“Fluency of Ideas — The ability to come up with a number of ideas about a topic (the number of ideas is important, not their quality, correctness, or creativity).”

Ron chanced upon this on bayt.com – found it totally outrageous that there are companies out there who would so blatantly consider saying that they are ‘looking for quantity and not quality of ideas’ when hiring a new recruit !!!!???!!!!

But wait a minute…. the job thats been advertised for, IS in KSA afterall .. no surprise – i suppose!
